This story began in the deep South-West of Sicily, near Trapani...
where the scent of the Mediterranean Sea mingles with the smells of the earth
Leda and Gaspare met in 1996 during the
staging of the musical '
Aggiungi un posto a tavola' ('Beyond the rainbow').
Since then, besides their great friendship they have cooperated
on the production of commercials and plays.
In 2001 Leda joined the project 'Ensemble Selinus', a musical group that
carries out concert activities with a repertory based on sound tracks of the most
famous movies and musical comedies in which Gaspare plays keyboards and
takes care of all the computer programming.
From this friendship and collaboration came the idea of an original musical package:
'
From Diary'.
'We decided to name it 'From Diary', Leda says, because
each track is a mix of imagination and real life experiences.
We believe that our music strongly expresses the pride of being
what we are and our attachment to the places where we were born,
have lived and to the people we love. We sing, not only of the torment
but also of the joy of living in a country
sometimes hard to understand but easy to love.'
In September 2002, while waiting for someone to invest in their project, Leda and Gaspare
decided to form a band to perform live music and to make their work known to as many people as possible!
